B&M Megashifter question.

I have an 85 camaro that I bought as a rolling chassis, and it has a nice b&m megashifter in it that I want to use. It has "park,r,n,d,2,1" as the shift pattern. I plan on using a 700r4 because I have one, will this shifter work? All the info I find on these says that they are universal for th350, th400, and 700r4, but how does this work if one is a 4 speed and the others are 3 speeds? Sorry if this is a dumb question but I just don't know and can't seem to find an answer

Re: B&M Megashifter question.

i think you need a 4 speed specific shifter.
maybe something like this;

Re: B&M Megashifter question.

If it is a Megashifter Specific for the F-Body it has a lock roll pin you remove for using with a 4 speed auto and it comes with a new sight that shows the overdrive position.

Thats exactly what I have, and if you look in the applications of it, it says its compatible with th350, th400,700r4, 4l60...that's why I'm confused

Ok so there is an adjustment in it that I can set it up for 4 speed, and I would just need to get the new window for the 4 speed set up?

I didn't read this but it might have the info that you're looking for: http://www.carid.com/images/bm/trans...structions.pdf

Edit: Oh, sorry, I didn't see that you already found the info.

Re: B&M Megashifter question.

If you have a four speed trans but you don't remove the blocker pin and e-clips what problems would you encounter. My car has one of these shifters which was installed by a previous owner and I'm wondering if he did this due to some issues I'm having.

Re: B&M Megashifter question.

My b&m shifter ripped out the rear metal mounting point from the car floorboard. Now I have to figure out ( no access to a welder) how to fix this.

Re: B&M Megashifter question.

Thanks dyno.
The entire rear mounting surface ripped out. So I got to remake that.

I would think you just wouldn't be able to pull it all the way into manual first gear....
