Speed Sensor Teeth worn
Hello the teeth on the speed sensor for my 1988 firebird formula are all worn off again. this is the second time now. I am wondering if anyone know if there is spacers that should be on the sensor or if there is an upgrade for the plastic teeth to maybe metal teeth? any help on what to do so I don't have to keep changing the teeth would be great.
Thanks

Re: Speed Sensor Teeth worn
How long are they lasting? Is the wear centered or offset to one side of the gear? Is the VSS loose? Is the drive gear inside centered to the hole?
The 700-R4 speedo gears were set up with a lower tooth count (36-40??) speedo gear sleeve or VSS and high tooth count (41-45??) speedo gear sleeve or VSS. If you're running a high count gear on a low count VSS, that might cause irregular wear.

Re: Speed Sensor Teeth worn
Along with what JMD posted, on a 700R4 there is two locations for the drive gear on the output shaft. Use the wrong one and the driven gear strips.
