hey guys I recently completed my ls/t56 swap and am now in the process of replacing my 3.23 gears with a set of 4.10s in hoping someone with more expiernce can weigh in on my contact pattern (BGH etc) shins are as follows
Pinion 29 thousandths
Backlash at 10 thousandths
Install instructions supplied with gear call for 8 to 12 thousandths backlash
This setup gave me the following pattern
summit brand which i believe is all star… but I'm not sure how long this 7.5 will stick around so figured i would give these a try … heard anything good or bad about them ?? bearing preload at the pinion is set at 20 inch pounds
Both. If the bearings are not tight at either one then you will have problems. I've seen many people get the pinion bearing preload set correctly but leave the differential bearings too loose. This will cause problems and possibly broken teeth.
