Rebuilt Trans - TQ converter locks early in 2nd and bad vibrations at low RPM
As the subject line says.
84 T/A, CC Qjet, rebuilt 700R4 with go-fast goodies, new 2800 stall vigilante converter.
The converter seems to lock up way early in 2nd causing the rpms to drop (Similar to shifting from 1st to 5th at 15mph forcing the engine to lug). When it does, I get bad vibrations coming up through the seat.
Any thoughts?
What causes the converter to lock up early?
What is causing the vibrations?
Bad Trans mount? (I didn't change it before the new trans went in)
Bad pinion angle? (seems to be a common theme when researching this issue--the car is lowered 1.5-2" on Hotchkiss lowering springs)
Something else?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
