26 to 28 or 30 spline axles
Planning to put this locker from ebay in my 8.5" 10 bolt. The seller also has it in 28 spline. My car has 26 spline so I'm going to need new axles too. Will the 30 spline fit OK? Seems like everyone is running stock, 28 spline or above 30.
Re: 26 to 28 or 30 spline axles
You do not have the 8.5 rear end, you have the 7.5 rear end. The 7.5 had 26 spline axles up to '90 and then they got 28 spline axles. The 8.5 had 28 spline axles up to '90 and then they got 30 spline axles. You can't put 30 spline axles in the 7.5.
You can put 28 spline axles in your rear end, but you have to change the whole differential. You can't put a 28 spline locker kit in a 26 spline differential case.

If you have more than 250 horsepower don't put any money into the 7.5 or end.. It's a waste of money......just how alot of us feel.....been there done that..

Yeah your right, for some reason I had 8.5 stuck in my head when I was looking up parts. I'll just look for something stronger.
