I'm guessing RPMs level X is similar but not identical.

Whose pump parts did you end with?

Re: all the Hard parts UPGrade your 700R4 Needs today

converter is by Precision Industries. TCI had nothing in the 38/4200 rpm stall speed I wanted. that would take the boost and NOS.there words..
also
all thrust Bearings no bushings.
and a few other parts cryod.. but about the same yes..

pump parts(billet 10 vain) are TCI. list/summit $219..shop ya can get a better deal.. I did.($150)
note TCI accidently charged me $600...2 weeks ago and has not refunded me yet...LOL. they tell me they are putting a care pakage together for me. as a. we are sorry sorta thing... I asked for 25% off the nexed parts order...lol we will see...what they send or do..

thinking about anodizing the case. red or gold..depends if I get it smooth enof for my guy to do.. if not then a hammer tone dark gray.

Re: all the Hard parts UPGrade your 700R4 Needs today

a lot of the performance transmission shops did not/do not install the spendy parts..and use bandaid fixes. and if. the ones that do use the the above parts. your going to be paying for them...as they are not free..

any shop can make claimes.. but the proof is starting to show. as more and more are using the newer parts..

in the 90s 4/500 HP and the 700R4 was fine with the right builder and good parts... but today add 600 to 800 HP your going to need better parts then a shop selling a $1200 700R4 can do/make..offer.

I see/know a few guys who paid $1200+for there 700R4 and all they got was a $300 rebuild. you don't always get what you pay for..also missing from the above list of parts is the new TCI stater support another hard part. off getting cryod
tranny is had all the burrs removed and set for tear down the cleaning

Re: all the Hard parts UPGrade your 700R4 Needs today

I had lingenfelters do mine in 92. car was running 11.70 eng only w/foot braking
700R4 manual/auto.none lock up mod. shift kit. vet parts.B&M clutches 10" 3200 stall. 10.50s w/nos. never broke or failed. only a sprag broke after a rear end failed..at 100+mph.. this mode was part of the $22.000 I spent with lingenfelters.
better tranny guy I would say...I locked the car away in 2003 after dropping a rod.. in 2009/10 I started to work on it...a 2nd time..
5 years of buying/stock up on parts..theres so much out now..

Re: all the Hard parts UPGrade your 700R4 Needs today

Sell the TCI valve body to someone you do not like. They are nothing but problems. The TV cable with the right parts installed in the valve body, front pump (pressure when needed), accumulators (keeps shifts smooth at part throttle), and the right feed/release holes on the separator plate will keep the transmission alive and shifting correctly far longer than any constant pressure setup. Shifts must be smooth at part throttle and get quicker and firmer with more throttle to get the best out of a performance transmission. Firm or hard shifts at part throttle are hard on the splines (entire geartrain), dangerous in the rain, attracts the police and is especially annoying to women (they hate it). This should give you some thoughts on the best way to approach this.

This is a full manual reverse valve body with transbrake.. This is not meant to be a going to work car...or . I'm going to get groceries car..(but you can..) This is a weekend have fun car.. and has for them being nothing but problems.. They've only been available for sale to the public less then.60 days..
The above parts are also not stock.. stock don't survive when hit with 600 plus horsepower..
This is not meant to be Humdrum two-door coupe with a slushbox for a transmission..
just a heads up...so ya know..
My grocery getting going to work transportation is a 1991 SS Chevy 454 with a full Hotchkis suspension.. And a 6-speed manual.. For a little fun..

Re: all the Hard parts UPGrade your 700R4 Needs today

whew, I'll be keeping an eye on this. I have been driving my car hard this 2016 and at times, infrequently, some of the gears are hanging up/over-revving past the normal shift points.

being that I definitely will be putting another powerful engine in the car in about 2 years (406 sbc with a 150 wet shot) if I need to beef up the trans or get one pro-built by a company like Monster... I will want to refer back to this thread. good luck with the build .. the entire car build. keeping an eye on it via your photos.

trans is close ratio.. so the gearing is a bit lower to make up for it
was 4.11 now a bit lower..

so this cast iron unit go's to the wayside under the work bench 4.11 Detroit locker 31 spline..Daytona support.
