Have a new 700R4 Pro Street transmission that goes for $2,285 plus shipping. I'll let it go for $1,885 plus shipping. They come with a new dipstick & TV cable and the correct speedometer gears for your tire size and gear ratio. Comes with an 18 month warranty.

Re: Need to move a 700R4 Pro Street transmission quickly....

I was on your website the other day actually since my transmission is on the fritz. It has been acting up for the past few months since I have been leaning on the car hard recently. Just Sunday I lost all gears except forward and reverse. Limped the car home and did a bunch of research here on TGO. Decided to pull out the governor and sure enough the plastic gear was shredded to hell. Replaced it yesterday and now the car is back in action; put 40 miles on it today actually. There is some slippage between upshifts and over-revving as there was before. The fluid came out somewhat clean, and only the clutch-dust type sludge was in the pan, mostly stuck to the magnet. I am going to do my best to make this trans survive through the year and hopeful buy one of your rebuild kits and beef the heck out of this trans in the wintertime. I am not skilled enough to do a trans build so I would like to find a pro shop to do it (and hopefully let me help out and learn/build it along side of them)

I am writing this just to let you know that if my trans totally takes a dump prior to the wintertime, there is a chance I might want to just drop in a new one instead of taking time to have a pro shop do a rebuild/ugrade.

the Current crate 350 engine with nitrous could work for your PRO STREET version (as per your website), but in a few years I plan on having a stout 406 sbc with a 150-200 wet shot going to it so I would need a trans rated for 700 hp I'd think. According to you website, the Pro Street would be perfect. Question: would having the pro street built trans setup with my current weakling engine cause havoc, to anything in the powertrain? I'd have to figure out which converter to upgrade to later on, but I currently run a 2800 rpm B&M

I guess what I am saying here is: I am working through some trans issues at the moment and doing some serious research since inevitably I will be doing something with this trans or a rebuild kit for my current one.. but at the moment, I am not ready to buy.

I have read numerous good things here on TGO about your company and products too, and your stuff is at the top of my list. PM me if need be. I am just really hoping to get my trans to last until the wintertime when the car typically comes off the road...

Less horsepower is not going to change anything. The transmission will have smooth shifts with the 9.5" - 10.5" torque converter at part throttle and quick firm shifts at WOT. With a 12" torque converter, it would shift somewhat firmer at part throttle and WOT, and it is not recommended with this transmission.

I have never needed or used a billet output shaft. I have them cryoed. Never had a problem, and it is apx. 1/8 the cost of a billet shaft.

Re: Need to move a 700R4 Pro Street transmission quickly....

Hey Dana. as I mentioned in my post above....my 700r4 was on the fritz; well last week it finally crapped out. no forward gears and no reverse gear. the fluid is a dark muddy brown/greyish metallic color. I am guessing it is fried internally. I was going to send you an email about my options/questions; but just saw that this post got updated today...and sadly the trans you mentioned was for sale has been sold. I have been doing a bunch of reading online (especailly TGO) and even though I am very hands on and auto mechanically well rounded... i have no knowledge on the internal guts of a 700r4 auto trans.

I have a few question to as you.. should I ask them here or just end you a separate email about everything?
