there is a guy in my area (CT) that does tranny rebuilds, my uncle whpo has built chevys since he was 3 lol highly recomends him and he was a greta help to my brother when he swapped his aod last year. From what I know he is reasonably priced and does so really really good work. I am taking my 700 to him in the spring that is going to be mated to my 383 (est. 420-450hp NA). His name is dave webster and he is in Southbury CT (06488) I don't have a number off hand but I can try and find it, or just check a natianl 411. *** luck

www.thethetrannydoctor.com, I have heard they do good work, and its well under 2k, try $999, and that comes with a tranny cooler! I plan on using them for my next tranny.

Guys I would suggest you skip the tranny doctors transmission and go to www.probuilt.net and let Danna hook you up with a tranny. I went through a B&M and a TCI before I went with the Pro-built. Dana's trannys kicks both the TCI and B&M's a$$ all over the place. Plus,Dana actually spends a lot of time with each customer to make sure you are going to get what you want and he is very knowledgable of the 700-R4. So in my opion save the $999 from the tranny doctor and put another $400 with it and get a Probuilt, you want be sorry.

I think the correct link should be www.pro-built.net. I had an Art Carr built 700r4 that only lasted me 5000 miles. I just started talking to them today about rectifying my problem and I think we are going to be able to work out a reasonable settlement. So I wouldn't rule out Art Carr.

700 R4

honestly man if you have a little mechanic in ya and ya dont mind a little backache buy yourself a prorebuild kit and do it yourself and get a nice converter and save the money... but if ya got the cash to spend thats cool too... ive rebuilt a couple in my day and they are a pain in the @ss times because theres like a million little pieces but just do it the hard way and rebuilt it if you can and get a shift kit for more positive snappier shifts that help with tranny life... if ya want get a manual body kit but remember overdrive is third gear right off the start so its just like a manual.. hope this helps a little maybe a few beers and some time can make it go easier...
