How do I remove the stock shift **** on my T-5?

I have a replacement **** that I want to put on, but I can't seem to twist the orig. off.

Is there a trick to it?

..... anyways, I'm gonna look underneath the thing to see if there is any clips.....

.... but if there isn't, please let me know if the thing just twists off or not.

it should just unscrew. If you don't care about the old ****, try a big pair of channel locks on it. Unless it's a leather ****, then you need to be gentle with it and send it to me. If you don't have a big pair of channel locks, let me know. I'll let you borrow mine.

Ok, got it off (it was the leather one). Looks like the first owner put some glue or something on the threads (unless that's stock).

Thanks anyway.

I used a torch on the handle to heat it up a little. It melts the glue.
