Re: t56 swap question

Do the 2.66 1st gear only after you have some gear and some cubic inches.

Either starter works with the LT1 T56 bellhousing.

An 88 torque arm probably has the same "W" or "M" shape to the front of it as the 95 and can be re-used.

Re: t56 swap question

If you are using an lt1 flywheel (which I'd imagine you would) you will need to use a lt1 starter. Something to do with the tooth count i think

Tooth count is the same on LT1 vs standard SBC flywheel. 153 tooth

Re: t56 swap question

I stand corrected. LT1 flywheel is 153.

It should work. I don't know why I didn't just use mine instead of buying a starter.

Re: t56 swap question

Yeah but personally I would go ahead and replace the starter while you're down there, unless it has been replaced in the last few years. Aftermarket varieties start at $80 and are much more friendly to install and work with. I thought the LT4 starter was a mini or higher torque starter.

Re: t56 swap question

if you have a true 305 starter, it will work.
350 starter will not.

Torque arm should be the same.
