lockup issue
my car wont lock up, is there a fuse for this or which circuit does it draw power from the fuse box?
Secondly my third brake light doesnt work, can these things be related? ive searched the interwebs but i cant get a clear answer. It cuts the cruise control when i apply the brake pedal if that helps.
and no i havent checked the brake switch, but can that be the problem?
Its a 90 350tpi camaro with a th700r4 trans, the problem began when i swapped the old 305 tpi engine out for the bigger 350, also its a convertible fyi

Re: lockup issue
It sounds like when you swapped engines you disconnected or damaged the wiring harness to the transmission. You center brake light is probably a bad bulb. And the cruise control should cut out when you apply the brake.
No fuse for lockup, it comes direct from computer. Brake switch could be defective if all brake lights wont come on.

Re: lockup issue
TCC Lockup solenoid could be bad. Piece o Cake to change out:
Drain and drop pan
Remove Filter
UnPlug and remove old TCC Solenoid
Install new TCC Solenoid
Install new Filter
Install Pan
Refill and check test drive
EDIT: Install a new 4th gear Pressure Switch while you're in there

Re: lockup issue
Since you went to all the trouble dropping pan and all, I would just change it along with the pressure switch.

Re: lockup issue
I havent changed the solenoid yet but it will engage the lockup in 2 and 3 but not in 4th, I did that by connecting a and f in the aldl connector to a switch, does anyone have any idea of what kind of problem i might have with my trans?
