7004r .300 Intermediate-Reverse boost valve Question

Im building a trans with a transgo shift kit, I have a .500 valve and corvette servo. But I didn't get .300 valve.
It's a 92 700r4 trans and it has a .283 (.282 measured) valve in it.
That is bigger than the min valve the instructions call for, but I see the .300 valves out there and it isn't that much to get one.
I am sure I would be fine with the one I have, But do I need to go ahead and pick up a .300?

And just so we are clear, I do not care if this transmission snatches the filling out of my teeth when it shifts.

It is for my play toy, I have a daily driver for smooth shifting.

Re: 7004r .300 Intermediate-Reverse boost valve Question

The .300" intermediate/reverse boost valve will give firmer 1-2 manual shifts, and higher line pressure for reverse. The .296" intermediate/reverse boost valve is much cheaper, and is close in line pressure. How much horsepower here? Do you manually shift the transmission? Or leave it in Drive for going WOT?
