Engine: Chevy 383 ProFlow XT fuel injection
Transmission: TH400
Axle/Gears: 3.73
700r4 trouble
Hi everyone
So I have a 92 T/A convertible with a 700r4 that’s acting up. The first thing is that I notice is when the car is parked and you shift to drive, and drive only, the car lurches violently forward. The next thing is that it feels like it’s starting off in 3rd gear. You can shift down manually and the other gears work, but when it’s in drive it starts in 3rd. Another thing I noticed is that when you’re driving manually, sometimes in 1st it will shift into the 2nd on it’s own, even though the shifter is in 1st. And finally when you shift into the next gear manually, there is a rpm flare between the shifts. Is this 700r4 toast or is it an easy fix? I didn’t see if there was a thread to something similar to this. If someone could help me or point me to the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
