i have a 1989 chevy c1500 Cheyenne 305 liters, I bought a rebuilt 700r4 transmission and it won't allow enough fluid for reverse to fully work while pressing the gas, it engages and starts to row back but pressing the gas won't help, any thoughts
Re: 7000r4
I'm not a expert. But maybe boost valve fell out of pump. An make sure you have tranny full of transmission fluid. Having a pressure gauge helps. Does it engage foward? Or only reverse the problem?

Re: 7000r4
i really hope this is the problem, hate to have to buy another rebuilt one, thought about rebuilding it myself but i'm too scared lol
Re: 7000r4
Book and DVD go step by step its not that hard. I have my transmission i bought from monster transmission tore down right now. Not over a mile on it before complete failure. Didn't shift correctly. I had just finish building my engine. In a hurry didn't notice dowel pins missing from the block. I made sure torque converter was all the way engaged in the pump. Some how pump was ruin. An governor was dirty. Check 3+4. Tolerances to tight. Wasted my money. Should have Done it myself. Then i could only blame me. At least I don't have to pay for labor like other horror stories. Just you bought it rebuilt doesn't mean it's right. Google reviews for monster and mad dog transmission. They talk big.. That's all
