T5 leak evidence guidance

friends!

I have my T5 bolted off of my engine and am casually inspecting it for an idea of life left in it by looking for evidence of case stretch

It's from a V8 TPI 91 car (and the id on the case looks to corroborate with this) which perhaps was once loved, but has I suspect has been whored out in her autumnal years.

Anyway I attach some pics of it freshly removed (apologies to those with stiff necks). I think I know the answer here, but welcome views from seasoned T5 veterans, forensic experts, Colombo-esque burgeoning detectives.

is this an open and shut case of fluid leak under the bearing? I suppose what's giving me false hope is the dirt on the bearing which perhaps suggests it hasn't moved?

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Re: T5 leak evidence guidance

That bearing is a relatively loose fit, with an O-ring to seal it, as opposed to the press-fit in the 1st design T-5. Since it hasn't been spinning in the case, the case is probably OK.

I'm not really seeing evidence of any significant leaking.
