Need Help Diagnosing Converter Prob.?

I just rebuilt my motor a month ago and i pulled the tranny with it. i put in a shift kit while it was out. Since then everytime i put it into reverse it is slipping for a few seconds. Now when I'm at drive throughs the engine is geting bogged down by something every few seconds while idling while making a rattling sound. Ounce it even quit on me but started right back up. Any Ideas?

By shift kit, do you mean a genuine TransGo SK or some other VB kit? When a problem appears after doing something, usually retracing your steps will show you a missed step or a mistake made. Is it full of oil? It almost sounds like two different problems. Somehting in the tranny causing the Reverse problem and perhaps an unrelated engine problem causing the other.

I used a b&m shift kit that i got form auto zone. I'm pretty sure I did all the steps correctly because i was so nervous about worling on it i tripple checked all my work and i check the fluid regularly and it is usually full. (have a small leak at transmision cooler lines). I went to a tranmission place today and they said the EGR probably had a problem and they were right. I found a hose that is broke. but the reverse problem is still there. thanks for helping me!
