700r4 to T56

I read the sticky already but it's all for a 2 piece RMS engine. I have an 89 trans am and I'm going from a 700r4 to an LT style T56 and I have some questions.

For pedals
Which pedals are best 3rd gen or 4th Gen?
What needs to be modified on each to work?

Flywheel and clutch
Can I use a standard LT1 flywheel or is there a specific one I need./?
Will an LT style clutch work assuming I can use the LT flywheel?
Is the LT style clutch mechanism going to work with a regular 350?

Center console
Will a 3rd Gen T5 console work or do I have to use a 4th gen?

Computer
Which VSS do I need?

Crossmember
I have long tube header to install which crossmember would be recommended.

Any info on this would be great thanks.

The answer that applies to 2pc rms engines applies here as well. See existing threads.

Yes.

Center console

Either of the above works.

Computer
Which VSS do I need?

Crossmember

There's only one VSS that fits the trans, see existing threads.
See existing threads for info on crossmember choices also.

Not to be a stickler or anything, but there are a lot of threads on this stuff. Just read em. If you have legit questions after reading the older threads, go ahead and ask, otherwise it's just more mud in the water. Try using Google with keywords for what you're searching for and add "thirdgen.org" to the keywords.

Re: 700r4 to T56

Some of the information on the stickies is confusing and not easy to understand.

However this is pretty much the exact response I was looking for so thank you.

Re: 700r4 to T56

you can also find some useful information in searching the engine swap threads as a lot of members (myself included) do this swap while swapping engines... if for example you look in the engine swap section under my name you will see some threads of my swaps which include T-56 swaps and some of the info you are asking about

... The 3rd gen will work, but the stroke for the clutch master cylinder is different.I have the 3rd gen pedals,4th gen master cylinder and line with a slave cylinder from an 89 pontiac sunbird. The sunbird slave cylinder has a larger piston and it will take up the extra volume of fluid from the master cylinder.
I have read that using 4th gen pedals and hydraulics works but the pedal assembly has to be modified to bolt up.

Flywheel and clutch
Can I use a standard LT1 flywheel or is there a specific one I need./?
Will an LT style clutch work assuming I can use the LT flywheel?
Is the LT style clutch mechanism going to work with a regular 350?
...If you have a 1-piece rear main 350 you need to use the Lt1 flywheel and clutch.

Center console
Will a 3rd Gen T5 console work or do I have to use a 4th gen?
...The T5 console works perfect, you will need a lower shifter boot,I used one from a 4th gen T56 car.

Computer
Which VSS do I need?
....I have read of members using the dakota digital SGI-5 speedometer interface.I don't know personally if the part number is correct.

Crossmember
I have long tube header to install which crossmember would be recommended.
....Hawk's sells this one HT-T56XM,it looks like it will work well. I made one myself modeled after this design.
There are other companies make similar as well.

Any info on this would be great thanks.
I messed up the post but I replied under your questions,If I can think of anything else I will post it.
