i just rebuilt a 88 700r4 i had reverse and first but it would not up shift then I lost reverse pulled pan and checked pb valve and it's all the way up in the pump

 

Man that sucks bro. I just rebuilt my first 700r4 v6 version and everything worked great. I'm assuming this is a v8 700r4 right? I'm pretty sure your gonna have go pull it out again bro recheck your work. Is your TV cable set correctly? Did you test line pressure? Did you fill it up with the correct amount of oil? That's gonna suck but hey your gonna have to do it. Make sure your check ***** are in there correct locations. Check to make sure your turbine shaft seals are sealing. Did you bench test? Also check the band anchor. And your servo? Did you do a full rebuild and replace all your seals and bushings? You wanna do a full rebuild and replace everything you can when rebuilding these. There's lots of things that can go wrong bro. Good luck. Gonna be tackling another 700r4 out of my new (to me) 92 Rs Conv TBI. It makes a horrible metallic grating sound when put in drive or reverse. Can't wait to see what's in there.
