Manual Shaft issue

I need help figuring out what could cause the shaft of this rebuild transmission to stick out like that and if I can replace it with the one inside the old transmission. I bought a rebuild TH200C because the old one was contaminated with water. The transmission was still working well but started to downshift into 2nd gear while cruising at 45 mph. It couldn't get into 3rd gear unless applied manually. I did the transmission flush last year and added new fluid. The fluid was clean but the inside components were already shot. So the transmission started to show its flaws after a few months and started to loose its 3rd gear. 2nd shifted smooth but 3rd very late or not at all until 2nd gear stopped working as well. So I decided to get a rebuild stock transmission because I want to keep the car as stock as possible. There are a few transmissions that would be better suited for the car and I can't say that I have read or heard good things about the TH200C but they're good normal operation transmissions if they're well taken care of or upgraded with stronger components. I'm not racing the car or do drive it hard. The old 200C did always perform well and could handle a few occasional hard lunches or burnouts. But anyway I'm trying to fix the issue with this rebuild and want to know if it's possible to use the shaft inside the old one. Any help would be well appreciated.

Stock TH200C

Rebuild TH200C with longer Manual Shaft or improperly installed which caused it to stick out.

Shift cable won't stay in proper alignment.

The mechanic who did the swap thinks that the rebuild wasn't properly done.

Is it possible that the wrong manual shaft was installed? I can't find any replacement part for that particular transmission.

Re: Manual Shaft issue

???

Can't say about manual shaft. But:

There's a simple replacement part for that. It's called a Turbo 350.

Alternatively, you could add 2 extra crossmember mount points, change the torque arm mount and drive shaft and a few other minor parts, and swap to a 83-up 700-4R. Even better in some ways although not as good in others as the 350. But EITHER is a YUUUUUUUUUUUUJJJJJJJJJJJJE improvement over that 200C pile of mouse droppings.

I totally agree but I still wanted to keep the car as stock as possible without needing to do any modifications for a different transmission. Isn't there a way to fix this issue without having to swap a different transmission?

I found various TH350 Transmission Gear Shift Shaft's while looking for one for the TH200C but couldn't find any for it, as if it has never existed. The part look similar but I don't know if it's the correct one.
