82 Indy 5.0 Transmission Shifter Bolts

Hi all, crazy question.... What size and type of bolts connect the shifter cable to the transmission? I somehow misplaced the 2 bolts pulling the trans out and cannot get any bolts to work. Bizarre!!! Thanks.

There is a very good chance that the bolts originally used were:

-American head with Metric threads

OR

-Metric head with American threads

As long as the threads are correct, the head should not matter.

Ok, i must be losing my marbles then.... I logically thought the shifter plate bolted to the side of the transmission... however after measuring the plate bolt holes (3" on center)... there is nothing that facilitates it. All the reasonable openings are 4" on center. Here are pictures of the cable plate and the side of the trans.

I am guessing but...

That bracket should mount a bit further back on the transmission.
It should have spacers and longer bolts, so it can attach to the case above the oil-pan rail.
