Drum to Drum swap: 9bolt -> 10 bolt
my 9bolt is junk. its drum brakes, original, on my '85 LG4 firebird. I found a '92 drum brake 10bolt from a v6, so the gears should be useable as is.
my quick question is about the parking brake cables. do I need to get the parking cable/parts setup from the 10bolt v6 '92 to swap the rear into my '85? I know for drum->disc this is needed. or, will my '85 cables etc bolt right up? I read both stickies, didn't see drum->drum covered.
yes, a 10bolt disc brake 1le/LT1 rear would be best but i haven't found any and this one is a good deal. just a basic budget daily driver car, keepin' it simple. I can do the LT1 swap later if I come across parts in a junk yard or something.
