Th350 Swap with 700r4 able
Encountering an unsolvable issue im hoping someone on here can remedy. Did a bunch of searching on the th350 swap. was told 73-81 shift cable from a th350 car should work with the stock 700r4 cable from my 91. my cable clips into the bracket, meaning passes through the bracket on the pan and clips in, which is great except that the hole for the th350 trans mount, in fact the entirety of the metal where the hole is pierced is too small. you cant put the 700r4 bracket on the th350 since the bolts holes in the pan are spaced differently, unless everyone just runs one bolt attachment? This isnt an uncommon swap, is everyone just using aftermarket cables and shifters? Theres stories of people using the factory cables all over the place but maybe that later cars have a different cable altogether? I just replaced the 700r4 cable recently, want nothing more than to utilize it for that fact. Ideas?

Re: Th350 Swap with 700r4 able
I just assumed they used the same cable & bracket. My 82 firebird came original with the 200c and i swapped to a 700r4 and now running a 4l60e and im using the factory bracket and cable. I may have swapped the arm that cable attaches to on transmission but thats it. Now again I'm assuming that the 200c & th350 have the same pans and amount of bolts.

200c and th350 having similar pan bolt dimensions im unsure. but im guessing so. the cable on a 200 has eyelets at boths ends. the 700r4s have a stud and nut. looks like the lt1 guys with the similar style cable are using a single bolt to hold it to the pan........i dont love it.

Yes my cable has an eyelet and little cotter pin holding it on, im sure i just removed that shifter arm and swapped it over to the 700r4 no problem. I also was able to attach bracket to 2 pan bolts. Maybe you just need the proper brackets?
