Transmission questions.

So I have a 700r4 that I shift at 5500rpm. Well over time the Trans isn't happy with me. Heh. It's not slipping but light throttle driving it's not shifting when it needs to shift. So here's the questions.

1. Easy fix with a valve body repair? Or do I need a complete rebuild.
2. I'm running about 350hp crank for now. Stock 700r4 handle that with some street strip stuff?
3. Would a manual valve body strengthen the Trans at all?
4. Would a swap to a turbo 350 be better than trying to fix the 700r.
5. I have a corvette servo and I drilled the governer to shift higher. What are some other performance orientated things I could do to a 700r to strengthen it, make it last longer and make it shift when I want if I didn't go manual.
6. If I do go manual valve body is there a reason to go reverse pattern?

Get in touch with Dana at https://probuiltautomatics.com/
When I still had an auto in the car I did my 700R4 for about $450 in parts to hold up with road racing and 350 rear wheel hp.

Re: Transmission questions.

It is never a bad idea to contact PBA/ Dana.

You should really take Line-Pressure Readings for all Gear-Ranges.
If you have a 1987 Case... There are addition Test-Ports on the Side of the Transmission with the 2-4 Servo Assembly.
The 3 Ports on that side, provide independent Pressures for 2nd-Gear, 3rd-Gear, and 4th-Gear.

THM700-R4 Units can be built for over 1,000+ HP.
Other Transmissions however become a better/ more cost effective/ stronger Transmission past about 700 HP.

Re: Transmission questions.

I had Dana rebuild my 700R4 a couple of months ago, it's working well. He can be a challenge to get a hold of sometimes but worth discussing your issue.

He is a "one-man" Business (and he is no spring-chicken any more; being in his 70s).

If you can not reach him on the Phone...
It is because he is handling as many customers as he can (at that time).
Leave him a message...
He will respond as soon as he has an opening for another customer.
