10 bolt truetrac help
Hi guys, I’m rebuilding my 10 bolt and am having issues with the figment of the carrier. I’m replacing the clutch type posi with a truetrac from Eaton and according to the website and after a phone call it looks like I ordered the correct part number (911A319) I’m running 26 spline axles and 3.73s. The issue is there’s no room for shims in the flange side of the carrier, like it’s pushed too far over when installing. It looks like the deck height is different from the carrier I pulled out but according to Eaton it should be a direct swap. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Re: 10 bolt truetrac help
Sounds like you probably have the thick "swap" gears. For putting high ratios on a low-ratio carrier. Most likely the carrier you pulled out is a 2 series, and the one you're putting in is of course a 3 series.
You need the right gears. Regular thickness. Probably the gears you have were chosen to match the 2 series carrier.
