89 rs 5speed to th350 swap
89 rs 5speed to th350 swap I know I've saw this somewhere but I cannot find the one i was reading again... what's the main issues guys have doing this swap? I have cooler lines and correct rad. Using floor shifter not converting to column. Does trans support and driveshaft need swapped as well? Does stock manifolds and y pipe clear or plan to change that? Thanks

Mine came with the TH350 that the previous owner(s) had installed. It was a real hack job. You will need a new crossmember, possibly a drive shaft modification (depending on long or short tail TH350), and a way to attach the torque arm to the transmission.
This is the one I used:
1982-1992 GM F-Body Torque Arm Relocation Kit- TH350 | UMI Performance Inc.
The previous owner was able to use the factory crossmember (still have it), and a big band clamp made of angle iron around the tail shaft to hold the torque arm to the transmission.
After swapping that out (new torque arm bushing not included), and a new mount too, I addressed the TV to "kick down" cable issue. I just used a cable selection for a second gen Camaro with TH350 option.
I am still using the factory shifter (but this won't be an issue for you).
No issue with the factory style exhaust with the swap.

If you have the long tail-shaft TH350 then you do not need a new drive shaft.
You will need a torque arm bracket. These can be found from many different sellers.
Changing the shifter from a manual to an auto will be the hardest part of the whole thing. Everything else is just plug & play. (speaking as someone who went the opposite direction, TH350 to a 5-speed)
