pedal springs?

I took the pedals out of my car to replace the bushings (I have the older Pre-87 manual pedals) and I didn't notice any return springs on the pedals. Does this assembly not use them? If it should, can someone point me to where I might acquire some. Thanks.

Re: pedal springs?

No return springs on the pedals.

The clutch pedal returns via a spring and pressure in the slave cylinder.

The brake pedal returns via pressure from the master cylinder.

The gas pedal returns via return spring on the end of the throttle cable.

Re: pedal springs?

Thank you for the info. I just wanted to make sure my pedals are ok after I took them out.

Yep they're fine, just be sure you tighten the main bolt down good before you re-install. If it's loose, even with new bushings, you'll get slop from left to right.
