I'm not sure if my torque converter is locking up too early or not? It is waiting till 4th gear pretty sure, so that is good. But I've seen RPM's as low as near 1000 rpms at 30mph. Even sometimes 900 or even 800 rpms. It seems fine when I accelerate and it will get out of it if i accel enough, but it also lets me stay in it accelerate slowly and this part i'm unsure if it is OK or not?

 

Lock would be 31mph low gears 37mph high. Unlock 16 low gears 35 high on a stock ecm tune for 89.

 

yes i think this is when i'm noticing lock around 31mph, my gears are 3:27... so this sounds normal to you then?

 

Reason for my concern is i'm noticing a supercharger whine sound, and seems to be getting louder lately, and this whine sound goes away when TC lockup.

 

Sounds normal, I usually bump up to 55 mph lock just my preference. But sounds normal.

 

Thanks. The supercharger like whine doesn't sound bad to me yet, I kinda like it, and its a whine that i've heard on the car for years now. I always thought it was the belt going bad but we replaced the belt, and the whine still there and sorta getting little louder lately. Again the whine doesnt sound BAD to me, not yet. Anyways knock on wood its fine.
