Not too hard, just time consuming.
The bell housing bolts are the hardest thing to do.
Remove the torque arm. Disconnect tranny lines, shift cable, TC lockup cable. Take off TC cover. Remove TC bolts. With jack under the tranny take out the bellhousing bolts. Take off the tranny x-member. You should be able to separate the bellhousing and block and pull tranny down and straight back. Rotate converter while gently pulling off, it will come out some, then after some rotation all the way off.
Fill the new converter with fluid, my Yank took a little more than a quart. Slide it on the input shaft and rotate till fully seated, it will drop twice.
Put the stuff back on. Make sure you do the bellhousing bolts before you do the TC bolts! Otherwise it will be misalligned and put mucho stress on the TC.
Keep a small jack under the engine oil pan while tranny is out as it will want to fall.
I think that covers it, Enjoy. What Yank did you get?
