Hi Guys,
im having an issue with my transmission its 700r4 with TV cable behind 350 small block with carburetor. transmission is wired to lock up automatically on the fourth gear pressure switch and i also have a manual override switch which is wired with a light,the transmission will lock up in 2nd & 3rd gear but not 4th gear and traveling at around 80 kmh the light comes on to say the lock up has power but will not lock upin 4th gear .
if anyone could shed some light on this i would be great full.

If it's wired to lock up in 4th, then it cannot be locking up in 2nd & 3rd. If it's not locking up in 4th, either the solenoid is bad, the pressure switch is bad, or it's wired incorrectly..

 

the car that it is does not have a computer i have power and an earth wired to the solenoid incorporating the 4th gear pressure switch ,if i lock the trans in second or third and flick the switch it will lock up.
