New speedo cable available?
New speedo cable available?
Is there a new replacement speedometer cable that fits a non-cruise control '89 Camaro (5-speed)? Mine got messed up so I ordered the replacement one ATP/Pioneer calls for for my car (Y815/CA3001), but the ferrule end for the instrument cluster is way too small.
Thanks for any help.

Re: New speedo cable available?
The cable on my '84 T/A was burnt up and leaking gear oil. (T5, non-cruise control.)
I fixed it with these parts from Amazon:
(Of course, your driven gear may be different due to rear end gearing.)
Parts fit, work, & no more leak.
From my experience, 80's GM speedometers all had the same slide on connection, short of the early 70's screw on cables, or later 90's electronic speedometers.
Perhaps they sent you a wrong cable in the correct box?
Pictures of the cable end and speedometer connection?

Re: New speedo cable available?
I have seen some mistakes in the ATP/Pioneer catalog with regard to shift cables and speedo cables. No, I don't need one for a T200-C for a year / model that had OD. And years later, they never corrected it.
Fenderwell cruise transducers didn't make it very far in the 80s. I know this sounds off, but maybe try that 84 listing, and maybe try the "with cruise" listing. I have had better luck with the two-piece continuous speedo cables than the one-piece "without cruise" cables.
