700r4 Torque converter Lock Up Switch

Hi all. I have a 91 Camaro rs 305 that is getting the carbed 350 treatment. I’ve seen things online about connecting the 2 terminals below on the OBD port with a wire separated by a switch to lock and unlock the torque converter. Wondering if anyone has had any experience with this, lock up kits online can range up to 300 dollars it’s hard to believe my solution could be as easy and cheap as a 8 dollar LED switch.

If it's a street car I think using a switch would be a real nuisance. mho. I bought the Painless kit.

I have everything from the headlights to the radiator fan wired to a switch lol it’s no problem for me. My biggest question is, will this switch work. And if so, if I only use it in 4th gear when it’s supposed to lock up, will it cause any excess stress on the transmission.
