Do I need a new tranny? Help!

My tranny is running fine with my LG4..(ironically, since the engine has the horsepower of a mo-ped)...but next month, I'm getting a longblock 350 put in for about $1600, installed. Now, you guys think my tranny will be able to handle a stock 350 engine? I have a TH350 by the way. I know lots of big engines have TH350 tranny's in them, but this one was put in with an LG4, so it crossed my mind that this TH350 was weaker than others.

Also, I know this may sound ridiculous, I just need to get something strait. What is a longblock compared to a shortblock? I figured longblock was the block with heads, intake...minus carb and distributer and headers. Help me out guys...

As long as your tranny has been well kept, tranny fluid changes and all it will be fine with a stock 350. That's what went behind 350s in the 3rd Gens.

And yes you're right a long block has heads, not sure if all come with intake though.

Also, if you don't already have one get a tranny cooler it will prolong the life of your tranny.
