Axle/Gears: Moser 12 Bolt 3.73 posi
replacing posi/gears

hey guys i have a new posi/gears i wanna put in my car, i have a posi with 3.23's in their now, i'm gonna be replacing the axles also, my qustion is do you need a dial gauge to install it or just get the gear pattern right?

You should have a dial indicator to do it right. Some swear you need a pinion depth checker also, these people don't realize that not all pinion gears come with a checking depth stamped on them. If your gears don't have the pinion depth stamped to them your only way to install them is by tooth contact pattern. You also cannot get the correct contact pattern without the backlash being set right, so in my opinion a dial indicator is not always necessary either. Check http://www.ring-pinion.com.
