Tranny Shaking

i can't figuer out what exactly would be cuasing this, when i EASE my clutch out in 1st, the tranny starts hopping, and litteraly shakes the whole car. i have no problems with clutch slipage or problems in any other gear, also if i just dump the clutch and go in 1st, there are no issues.

I checked the xmember, and it seems fine, the rubber mount for the tranny on the xmember, looked a little worn, but nothing too bad at all.

could this be caused by my clutch being glazed.

also about 4 months ago, i got a new throughout bearing, master cyl, and slave cyl. the clutch pack was checked at that time, and was in good shape, with lots of life left in it.

thanks for you help.

John

BTW, the car is a 90 RS LO3, with a T-5.

It could be several things. I'll only talk about the clutch.
Could be a pressure plate that was torqued wrong, weak or bent p. plate spring fingers, warped pressure plate or flywheel, worn pilot bushing/bearing. I'm sure there's more but i'm out of thoughts.

Axle/Gears: stock... whatever that means :)
These are some things that can cause CLUTCH CHATTER:

*Leaking rear main seal.

*Hot spots on flywheel/pressure plate.

*Not turning flywheel when replacing clutch. Why? Refer to #2.

*Dumb but... Using the OLD pressure plate when replacing clutch.

I've watched a not so brite friend of mine install and torque one bolt at a time on a pressure plate, the diaphram fingers sort of walk around as it's being tightened, when he was done they were all at different heights.
You know not to do this right?
How do we know what happened when the clutch was inspected?

You've got to realize what information we have to work with here, never seen the car, the mechanic, the parts that went into it, etc, etc, etc. Anything is possible.
