I posted below "stall converer options"

and I know that I shouldnt cam a car with 2.73s, so how hard would it be to install gears myself?

I have done engines and everything engine related, but I have no knoledge of rear ends.

would this be something I could accomplish myself on a weekend and a manual?

how much does it cost to have gears installed?

 

I have a feind who's dad is an engineer for GM and he won't even do a rear by himself. If you are off even slightly it will wear out in the first 500 miles if it makes it that far. Just for pricing and I don't know if this is what you want or not...I am getting 3.73's Auburn, Eaton Posi...installed for 900 bucks. Hope this helps a bit

 

they're pretty easy to do but are differant than engine work as you've doen in the past. they also require some expensive tools most people don't have. look in you manual to get an idea of what it takes.
