I was wondering if anyone could estimate or have first hand information on the difference in times between an open and posi rearend with the same gears.

If you got perfect traction with an open differential there would be no time difference after adding a posi.
Since no one can measure how much tire spin you might have without a posi no one can tell you what difference it'll make with one.
