trouble with tranny

sometimes when i am riding around and the auto get's ready to switch for 2nd to 3rd, the transmission wont switch and the rpm's soar through the roof. like if i would let it it would redline, i have to let off and then go again. why is this happening.

Most likely because your 3-4 clutch is fried. Very common problem for the 700. Sorry my freind but it's time for a rebuild.

Depends on where you go. AAmco charges around $1700 to start out with. My shop charges $695 to start, and most shops are going to start out around $995. I'll tell you this right now you'll never find as complete as a service on the 700r4 transmission as our shop offers for the price. Shop around for prices and make sure they are going to include a transgo shift correction kit in the price, if not look until you find a place that does. You get what you pay for isn't always true when it comes to transmissions. I have a customer right now that payed more to get her front pump seal changed than i'm charging her to rebuild her entire transmission.
