t-56 clutch and flywheel
t-56 clutch and flywheel
I have read alot about the t-56 on this board. What I need to know is what flywheel and clutch can be used with a older 2 piece rear main seal crank. I know that I need to get a tranny from a LT1 car, and someone said that the 93 version didnt have the .50 sixth gear ratio. Please any help I can get on this will help. And if anyone knows the ratios of a 93 tranny, and the other ones that would be greatly appreciated.

You'll need to buy a custom flywheel. I think centerforce makes it.
Then bolt up any LT1 T56 clutch, and install tranny.

I couldn't tell you. Mine grenaded the posi carrier pretty quickly, but due to my crap clutch in my '99 I haven't been able to see how well the Zexel-Torsen holds up.
The 93 T-56 has a .62 ratio. In reality unless you have a real low rearend gear ratio you won't be able to use 6th under 80 mph.
If you already have a T-5 in the car your money ahead if you go with the aftermarket T-56 so you don't have to get the centerforce flywheel and all of the other parts.

the flywheel i used is made by Centerforce p/n 700107 i paid $280 for it, you should be able to get it a little cheaper depending on where you get it from and the shipping costs. just get a clutch that is for LT1 t-56. yes 6th gear doesnt really come into play unless i am doing over 80 because of these damn 3.08 gears, also it doesnt exactly leap off the line either.

thanks guys....i think i might go with a super t-10 that i have sitting around at home. It is already built with all the strong stuff so i figured what the **** i'll put it in. so I have another question for you guys, I'm doing all this to my 94 somona that i put a 327 in, the stock clutch linkage is hydraulic and i kinda want to keep it that way. Does lakewood make a bellhousing that will allow me to keep the hydraulic slave cylinder set-up. I'm asking you guys alot of this stuff cause on s-series.org there isnt alot of v8 stuff to do with this. thank you, Jimmy
