clutch pedal- worn linkage stud
I'm converting my 82 from automatic to T5. The clutch/brake assembly I'm using is from an 84 Firebird. The clutch pedal linkage stud is worn (almost half of the original cross section). This is the stud that attaches to the hydraulic clutch master linkage with a clip. The stud is attached (riveted?) to the clutch pedal lever arm. I'm concerned that it will break in the near future. Has anyone found a good way to repair this stud? Is this a common problem that I'll find if I look for another pedal in the junk yards?

It's the stud that connects the clutch master actuator to the clutch pedal. The linkage from the master actuator slips over the stud. A clip slides over the end of the stud to keep the linkage from sliding off.
I had thought about welding replacement material back onto the stud and grinding it back to its original dimensions, but assumed the part was heat treated. However, based on how it has worn, it may not be heat treated.

If you're talking about the stud that's on the clutch pedal itself, mine wore out like that as well. I just replaced it with a junkyard pedal.

It seems to me that it isn't a lack of lubrication but maybe that the little plastic bushing/clip breaks and/or falls out and allows metal to metal wear. Maybe???
anyway, Mine didn't have the problem when I swapped so I didn't notice how the stud was attached. I would assume it's welded on. The easiest route would be to find a replacement pedal out of any manual tranny equipped camaro (4 cylinder, V6, V8).

I've pulled three pedals from junk yard cars. All three were worn beyond use. One afternoon down the drain. The GM parts catalog does NOT show any bushing.
I'd hate for the linkage to break while I'm pulling into my garage. I'm looking at drilling out the stud and replacing it with a shoulder bolt.

im looking for the same part, its the rod that connects the clutch master cylinder to the clutch pedal. its just screwed on to the master cylinders rod. if you can find another just unscrew it and screw the new one on. i know this cause mine just snapped, and no parts shops have this thing, anyone know where to find one??
