Take a look.
Well I went to dig my extra gear set out of the shed and this is what I found. Can I still use these?
Looks like only three teeth have slight pitting.
Any help would be great.
Thanx,
Rick

You might clean them up with some emory cloth.
I dont know if it would cause any wear or not on the ring gear.
I would clean them up and see how they look. If the pits are not bad I think the gears should be oK.
just my .02 cents. Good luck.

Have a look at http://www.ring-pinion.com
Lots of useful information there.

I would only use them if you are looking at having them in thetre short term. From the picture it looks like the corrosion on the teeth is actually pretty good and aside from that, it looks like they had quite a bit a funky wear on them. So if it's temporary, sure, clean them up and put them in. Just don't expect them to be a long haul item.

I would have to agree with cac91. I wouldn't go through all the trouble changing gears, and use those. Not when motives can be picked up on the net for 150.00 or less. But if you like to change gears, use um.
