I have a 91 T/A,305, 700r4, 103000 miles. just noticed that while in either 1st,2nd, or 3rd, when I take my foot off the gas, rpms drop almost down to idle and the tranny doesn't slow me down anymore. This doesn't happen in OD. Otherwise tranny is working properly, TV cable is adjusted properly. Fluid & filter are new. If there is someone who knows what this could be, I would greatly appreciate the advice. I want to stop a disaster before it happens.

 

The input sprag or the overrun clutches or both are gone. The transmission will have to be taken out for this, while it is out might as well rebuild it since it has this many miles on it. Give me a call or e-mail me if I can be of help?
