Problems removing driveshaft!?
I've removed the 4 bolts from the rear of the driveshaft, it won't come out. I don't want to knock it out of balance by banging it with a hammer. Any suggestions??

ummmm i assuming you removed the 4 bolts, THEN slid the slip joint end into the tranny's tailshaft.......that should give you the clearance you need.........
I removed mine the other day. After removing the 4 bolts and bearing holders I could not remove the shaft from the rear diff by hand. Problem is that the bearings rust onto the diff part of the UJ. I shoved a big screwdriver in there and levered it off. Mind one of the snap rings/circlips broke but I think this was because it was so badly corroded. Be carefull those bearing caps dont fall off as the needle bearings will fly everywhere. Also mark the shaft so you put it back in the same position and treat the shaft carefully not knocking any balance weights off.

Since I've had my car (2yrs), its had marks on the driveshaft as if weights were once on there. The problem is, they aren't on there now. How significant is this? I would imagine this would cause a vibration, but the only thing I've noticed is a whine from about 40-50 in drive, but I think thats the rear end.
If the prop is out of balance it wont be a whine you hear but a rumble/vibration at a certain speed. If you dont experience any problems I'd forget about it. Just give the axle an oil change.
