World Class T5 tranny...
I've heard this World Class term mentioned a few times on this site, and I have no clue what it means or is. Is it a special option tranny or what? How could someone tell if their tranny is a "world class"?
I believe camaros and birds used wc after 87....i could be wrong. i think it means better syncronizers and they can handle a little more torque. I,m sure someone else will post soon with more info.
I am pretty sure '88 and up V8 thirdgens got the world class T5's. I believe they just had better syncronizers as mentioned above and were rated at 330ft/lbs of torque while the regular ones were 300ft/lbs
The T5 World Class started out in 87. It uses a Dexron III type lubrication system and features much better lubricating properties than the standard T5 available in previous models. The synchros are beefier and the bearing are tappered instead of the standard $hit. It will last longer.

GM switch to the WC T5 in 88, I think the mustangs got them in 85.

No, there's no stick. The proper way is to remove the top plug on the passenger side. While filling, when fluid reaches that level (the upper plug), plug her up and you're done. make a note of how much fluid you used (remember, A/F only!!) that way you can change it faster and easier the next time. I change mine every 10,000km's but then again, I'm overkill and always have been.
