10 bolt with 1le or 9 bolt????

I have a 10 bolt with the 1 LE brakes and moser axles from a 1992 RS Also have a stock 88 formula 350 B/W 9 bolt which would be better to use? Is it possible to swap to 1LE on 9 bolt?? Rear end going into 88 firebird formula 350 bored 30 over zz4 cam, 1.6 alum roller rockers ported and polished L98 alum. vette heads ported intake slp runners and 100 shot NOS which would hold up the best??

I don't know about the brakes, but the 9 bolt was the high performance option for 3rd gens in the late '80's and is much stronger than a 10 bolt It has a 7.75 vs 7.5 or 7.625 ring gear. The 9 bolt has 4 pinion gears (aka spider gears) vs 2 in the 10 bolt. Also, the 9 bolt has axle retaining flanges (not c - clips). But then again, I have a biased opinion

i dont know if the 88 9 bolts had the big brakes. personally i like the 9 bolt but the prices suck. a 10 bolt with a stud girdle has worked fine for me for years in numerous cars.

id go with the 10 bolt, if it ever breaks you have choices on what kind of gears, posi, and other goodies for it. 9 bolt brakes, theres pretty much one supplier, one choice of posi carrier, and one choice of gear manufacturer. plus all the 9 bolt stuff has to be imported so price goes +++.
