Anyone with a 12 bolt, Please come in and read

I just bought a moser 12 bolt for my 91 z28 with drum brakes. I've looked for any articles on what I need to swap this rear into my car. I have not found any. I need to know whether my drum brakes are gonna be able to transfer over. I also need to know what problems or what modifications I have to do to get this rear to work in my car. this is a moser 12 bolt for the third gen. f-body's with the torque arm mount. I understand something about the yoke has to be changed? is it the one on the rear or the driveshaft?

i'd call moser fopr the basics, but it should be a straight forward swap. you'll need to have a u joint fit the pinion yoke and the DS yoke, easiest thing to do is get a u joint to fit the pinion side and then have a new yoke welded to your drive shaft

The factory drum brakes on your car won't fit the moser rearend, atleast if you have the 9inch ends on it like I do. I have the non-clip version which has ford 9inch ends welded on it. Moser sells a brake kit that works perfect, they are actually ford torino brakes. You may have to bend your brake lines a little get everything lined up correctly. Everything else is pretty much a direct bolt in. You may have to get bigger brackets to hold the rear sway bar on because the axles are thicker. The torque arm bolts right up.

Its a 12 bolt with Ford 9inch ends. Moser has pretty good tech support, you can call them at 219-726-6689

Hmmmm....A 91 Z28 with drum brakes. Wierd considering mine is a 92 Z28 with all around disks.
You need to swap out your U-Joint and go with a 1350 spicer. Also there are four screws for the torque arm (2 bottom, 2 on top). Being the dumbass I was at the time I drilled thru the screw mounts and made the screw go completely thru. [B]Well for the TQ arm make sure you find the screws that fit it.[B]

And one more note, Moser told me to fill the rear with oil from the T/A cover. Dont listen to them. That fugked me up and made oil leak from the axel bearings on one side. [B]Fill the rear from the allen fitting on the side.[B]

I hope this helps some.
