I just got an 1987 IROC-Z with a 350 tpi. I noticed when I do a rolling start then floor it, the tranny does not shift into 2nd gear. The car shift's regular when just normal driving and also flooring from a dead stop. A mechanic at my job noticed a cable the goes to the throttle body and it was very loose. I believe this is the kick down cable. Can I adjust it. Does the tranny need a rebuild?? it has 90,000 miles on it. Any help is appreciated.
