Rubbery t-5 shifter feel.
Rubbery t-5 shifter feel.
The t-5 in my recently aquired 88 IROC feels pretty rubbery. The car has 78k miles on it. What causes this to happen? I had a 98 v6 firebird @ one point and the t-5 in there felt fine. Anyone? Thx!

Get a better shifter. My 83's stock one felt basically like it was connected to a bowl of oatmeal instead of a trans; a Hurst gave it a very tight feel.
