The non- world class T5 is probably rated at about that, and I think the world class is rated at 330 ft. lb. at most. Neither would work very long for your setup. I would recommend doing a T56 swap, cheaper than Richmond, etc.. but plenty strong for that much torque.

World class is rated at 305 ft/lb. You might want to look at getting a tremic TKO, I think is rated at around 525 ft/Ibs.

My original 84 Non World Class T5 has held up to over 360 ft-lbs of torque for over 8 months now, hopefully it will last me well into the summer.. 1st and 2nd gear suck, but 3rd is really the power gear on the car.

Ive found that the WC T5 is rated at 330ft-lbs and the non WC is rated at 300ft-lbs. 265ft-lbs would make no sense because GM would have never put the LB9 behind it without worrying about warranty issues.

The only T5 rated at 330 ft-Ibs is the mustang "Z" transmision.

Non-WC: 265-270 ft-Ibs
GM WC: 305 ft-Ibs

The Ford Racing Z box is rated on paper at 330ft-lbs but its actual rating is more like 375.

The non-WC was not rated at 270ft-lbs because GM would have been ****ting their pants when they were assembling them behind the LB9 in 87.

Thats why they went with the WC transmision in 88, to many warranty issues.

may sound stupid

So...will a mustang T-5 fit into a chevy?

I only ask because the only T-5s I see in Jegs are in the mustang performance section. I am just thinking that they are one in the same.

Sorry guys...i am a newbie :hail: Teach me!!

Thanks

But where can I get a new T-5 or tremec for a chevy? I am on the hunt. Richmond has a 5 speed but I don't think that their ratios are that good for street racing.
