My best times (below) are with a 7.5" ring and pinion 10 bolt. Nothing else inside the diff was stock. I just switched to a 9" this winter because I also went with a transbrake.

Ok, that makes me feel a little better, if you didnt have problems I shouldn't. I mean this isnt a full out race car, may see the track 2-3 times a year with a couple passes each time.

Mine runs low 13s & some high 12's with the stock rear, never had a problem. Swapped in a Moser 9" & sold the 7.65 to a guy, he did two burnouts & burned the posi.

12.69 @ 111 and it's a one-legger to boot.

From your sig I don't think you'll have anything to worry about. Manual transmissions are a lot harder on the diff from high rpm clutch drops. That shock is what breaks teeth off.

You can always upgrade to aftermarket 28 spline axles and carrier with a solid diff cover with bearing cap supports to make it stronger.

Camrs89,
I don't think the guy ever took it to the track. He did this on the street. My old rear (7.625) was completely rebuilt except for the posi. It had 130,000 miles on it when it was rebuilt.

I went 12.36 Saturday on mine. The 60' was a 1.8. There is a guy around where I live running 10's with a 7.5".

that makes me kinda feel better to know some people are running 12's on them. i was wondering if it would last behind my 406. I am planning using a rearend girdle, weld the axle tubs and use redline gearshock lube. I also have heard to run a solid crush sleeve, has anyone else heard this? any other tricks or tips to make the rearend stronger? thanks lll jay

Check out the tech articles on this site, there 2 of them on how to strengthen the 10-bolt. I followed most of the recommendations and hope to see low to mid 11's this yr once everything is ready and the nitrous is on. We'll see how long the rear lasts.
