Wow, a 3rd Gen TCC that locks!

For the first time in my life, I've been in a 3rd Gen w/TH700 that locked the TCC! Although I strarted driving the car in Aug '99, the TCC never locked. I finally figured out yesterday that there wasn't any power going to the tranny for that circuit. I patched a wire from brake light switch to the purple wire, finished the shift kit install, and took it out for a test drive tonight. Amazing!

Still some issues to work out. It seems to lock immediately upon shifting to 2nd, even at WOT and when being held in 2nd. But, I don't think it's shorted, rather the ECM is doing this for some reason (perhaps that JC Whitney chip).

More troubleshooting ahead, but at least people can stop worrying about me burning up my tranny because the TCC doesn't lock!

Well, it wasn't shorted, wasn't the chip making it act wierd, or the ECM for that matter.

Disconnected the "new" power wire, still shifted wierd into 2nd & 3rd, but now no TCC lockup at cruise like before. Hooked the wire back up, ran the snot out of it, started shifting fine.
